How to complete the course:
The agility course requires you to run around a series of cones in a ‘slalom’ fashion and is designed to assess your ability to change direction whilst responding to incidents (agility).
This test requires you to run back and forth between 2 points, 15 metres* (49 feet) apart whilst keeping pace with a series of 'bleeps'.
As each level commences you will hear 2 bleeps, the time between the bleeps will get shorter and this will encourage you to get a little faster to keep intime with the bleeps.
Your aim is to arrive at the end of each length when you hear the bleep. During your fitness test if you fail to reach the end line in time with the bleep you will be cautioned , if the next line is missed a 2nd caution will be given, if you then are unable to reach the end line for a 3rd consecutive time you will be withdrawn from the test and a test fail documented. If this happens during your practise please press finish to see how well you performed.
If you are on a 1st or 2nd caution and then you catch up with the bleep, you will go back to no warnings. This however does not apply on the last shuttle (level 5.4),you must be within 1.5 meters of the end line on the last shuttle to successfully pass the test, if verbal warnings are in place then the candidate must reach the finish line on or before the bleep to pass the test.
At your assessment centre the minimum score to pass the Bleep Test is to reach level 5.4 (Level 5, lap 4).
*15 metres is roughly 20 adult paces, if you are unsure you have the correct distance it is better to overestimate.
